Do you accept credit cards for payment?

Yes, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Please use the link from our home page to access our secure site for payment. Payments are posted within one business day.

If my pickup day falls on a holiday, will you still be coming to get my trash that day?

We work all holidays except Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. If your pickup falls on or after one of these holidays, your pickup will run one day later. For example, Thanksgiving is on Thursday and if your pickup is normally Friday, your trash will be picked up on Saturday for that week only. Regarding Christmas and New Year’s Day, if the holiday is (for example) Monday, all pickups will be one day late: Monday on Tuesday, Tuesday on Wednesday, etc. If the holiday is on a Wednesday, Monday pickups are normal, Tuesday pickups are normal, Wednesday pickups will be on Thursday, Thursday pickups are on Friday, etc. If the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, pickups for that week are NOT affected.

What area of Colorado Springs do you serve?

We pick up on every street in the city of Colorado Springs, Cimarron Hills and most connected areas. We service most of Manitou Springs, Gleneagle, Security, Widefield and Fountain. Feel free to call or email with your specific street name and we will tell you if we service there, no obligation!

I just moved into my home and I have a lot of moving boxes and packing materials. Can you take them for me?

We will take “move in” trash FREE for your first four weeks of service, allowing ample time to unpack. No bulk items would be included in this FREE pickup (examples: sofa, chair, desk).

What happens if the weather is extremely bad?

We always attempt to make pickups as scheduled. If collection is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, we will attempt to follow the one-day-late holiday schedule mentioned above.

Does Bestway Disposal take large items, such as sofas and mattresses?

Yes, we can take most large items with prior notice. Please call in or notify us by email and we will take your extra items. If the charge is more than $20.00, we will need to collect payment when we provide the service. Please call if you are unsure of the charge.

What are the different types of trash collection offered?

We offer a wide variety of service levels for you to choose from: 1 or 2 bags-only service all the way up to customer-provided can service at 10 cans. Or Bestway Disposal-provided container service in 64- and 96-gallon size. For the recycle service, we provide one size only: a 64-gallon container. Please see the recycle page for more information.

How often will I receive a bill?

What day of the week will my pickup be on?

Because pickup days can change from one block to another, we would need to know your exact address to provide that information. If you sign up on the website, we will tell you on your confirmation email. If you want to know for sure before you sign up, please send an inquiry email or call our office to inquire.

What time can I expect your truck to arrive at my house?

Pickup times can be anywhere from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.; however, once established, your pickup time should be approximately the same every week. We ask that your trash is placed out by 7 a.m. until pickup time is established.

Can I throw out oil, paint, pesticides, batteries or other materials of that nature?

All of the items just mentioned above are considered hazardous materials and are not acceptable materials for a landfill. We would recommend that you contact the El Paso County solid waste coordinator at 520-7878 for information on the Household Hazardous Waste drop-off facility. Please feel free to call our office with any other questions.

What happens if I forget to put my trash out on my pickup day?

Bestway Disposal offers an “Indisposable Service Guarantee” to all of our customers. This is a no-questions-asked, customer satisfaction policy that guarantees you will receive certain services, or your money will be refunded for that week’s pickup. If your cans are not visible, we will look for them. If we cannot find them, we will knock on your door to try to collect your trash, GUARANTEED.

What is your vacation policy?

Because we bill on a 48-week schedule, we do issue “vacation credits” but only after a minimum of four continuous weeks of no service. We will apply the appropriate credit of four weeks or longer to your next statement. Please call us BEFORE you leave on vacation.

Does my trash have to be placed out at the curb? Do you offer a carry out service?

We offer both curb and carry out service. Curb service requires you to place the trash within three feet of the street. Carry out service allows you to have your cans picked up from an area that is visible from the street; we will collect the trash and then return the cans to their original location.

Will Bestway Disposal pick up trash from inside my garage?

No, unfortunately, insurance regulations prohibit us from entering a garage, even with open doors.

Do I have to provide my own cans, or will Bestway Disposal provide me with a container?

Either service is available as an option. For a slightly higher charge, we can furnish and maintain a wheeled refuse container with an attached lid. These containers do not require the use of liner bags. An occasional spray with a garden hose keeps this container clean. This is also the easiest method for placing trash at the curb.

Can I use a 55-gallon drum as my trash can?

We are unable to dump metal 55-gallon drums due to the weight.

Occasionally I have more trash than my cans can hold…will I be charged extra?

If you have more than your current service level, your account will be charged. This extra charge is figured by the driver. He determines this by what the extra items are, how heavy they are and how long it takes to load them. For example, six extra lawn and leaf-size bags that are not extra heavy would have a total charge of $6.00. If your bags are heavy because of dirt, grass or other heavy items, it will be more than $1.00 per bag. As always, we will be happy to provide an estimate of the charge when your driver is at the house. Just call ahead of time to schedule this estimate.

I’ve done some yard work and have some branches I need taken away, can you take them?

Yes, the charge is approximately $1.50 for each bundle. Up to $10.00 of extra will be taken without prior authorization. If you have more than six or seven bundles, please give us a call first.

Will they always take extra even if I don’t call in to let them know to take it?

If the amount is in excess of $10.00, we will not take it without prior approval. We ask that you always call in advance to avoid any delays in the process.
